Dr. Smink joined the practice in 2005. He graduated with Honors from Amherst College where he was captain and MVP of the varsity ice hockey team. He attended Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland and served as Vice President of the Alpha Omega Alpha honors medical society local chapter.

He trained in orthopaedic surgery at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago and then completed a Sports Medicine fellowship at Harvard University-Massachusetts General Hospital, which afforded him the opportunity to be a team physician for the New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, and the Harvard University Department of Athletics.

Away from the office and operating room, Dr. Smink continues to share his love of ice hockey with the youth teams that he coaches.
