Dr Smink has a really good memory. I haven't seen him in years, but he recognized me. He treated my hand, but did suggest that I follow up with a hand specialist.

I underwent a left total knee replacement with Dr. Korboi Evans at Greater Washington Orthopedic Group on February 5, 2026. Three months later, I can say without qualification that choosing him was the right decision.
Dr. Evans is a highly competent surgeon with excellent bedside manner. He is smart, communicative, and present, not just during surgery, but throughout recovery. My appointments were focused and efficient. He listened, answered every question clearly, and took my input seriously. At my three-month follow-up today, my X-rays looked great, my range of motion and gait exceed standard benchmarks, and he confirmed I am approximately 80% recovered, with the remainder being time-dependent healing rather than any clinical concern. When I told his assistant that I often forget I had surgery because I have no pain, that was not an exaggeration. It is the best measure of a successful outcome I can offer.
His medical assistant, Madeleine Farrar, was a consistent point of reliability throughout recovery. She ensured prescriptions were filled promptly, responded to questions without delay, and had paperwork ready when it was needed. She made a demanding post-operative period significantly easier to navigate.
Kristie Belt, the surgical scheduler, set the right foundation before the procedure even began. She communicated clearly in the preparation phase, answered every question about what to expect, and coordinated seamlessly with the surgical center and insurance. Patients rarely think about how much good pre-surgical coordination matters until they experience its absence. Kristie made sure I never had to.
Greater Washington Orthopedic Group performs at a high level from the first scheduling call through the final follow-up. I recommend Dr. Evans and his team without reservation.

I attended the Greater Washington Orthopedic Group Physical Therapy Clinic from February 18 to May 5, 2026, completing ten weeks of post-operative rehabilitation following a left total knee replacement. John Kitchen, Lori Mendoza, and their team made that experience exceptional in every respect.
John is an outstanding physical therapist. His clinical skill is matched by genuine warmth and social intelligence that put you at ease from the moment you walk in. What he and Lori have built in that clinic is not simply a rehabilitation program. It is an environment where patients feel known, supported, and motivated. The atmosphere is one of family, not just professionalism, and the distinction is real. I looked forward to every session, which is not something most people say about physical therapy following major surgery.
The team’s approach goes beyond the physical. They coach, guide, and encourage. They stay engaged throughout each session, demonstrating consistently that you are not navigating recovery alone. Their interest in their patients is not limited to clinical outcomes. They care about the whole person, and it shows in how they work and how they communicate.
The results speak for themselves. Over ten weeks, I met and exceeded every physical therapy milestone set following my total knee replacement. At discharge, my surgeon confirmed those results with equal confidence. That outcome is inseparable from the quality of care John, Lori, and their team provided.
Greater Washington Orthopedic Group Physical Therapy is where you want to recover. I recommend John Kitchen, Lori Mendoza, and their team without reservation.

My second surgery with Dr G. Petruccelli. And I am so glad I have him for both my torn meniscus'. This particular time, the surgery went well (I didn't expect anything less), and I continued the healing process for 4 uneventful days. But then I did something REALLY stupid. I scratched the skin under my bandage b/c it was ITCHING SO BAD. An hour after scratching it, I looked down and i had a full-blown rash. It was now almost 4 pm Friday, of EASTER WEEKEND! But he CALLED ME BACK immediately! He told me how to address the issue with all the specifics. I tried to apologize, but he told me, "It's OK, I'm going to tell you exactly what to do." I made note of all of them. And towards the end of the conversation, he warned me to go to the ER if I started feeling dizzy or weak. Oh, I'm SO GLAD I called him, and that he called me back right away! THIS is the kind of Doctor you want in your corner. Yes, he seems so efficient (almost too fast for this 60-yr-old's brain) but today he showed me how much he deeply cares for his patients. He gives medicine a good name, at a time when all this digital communication is confusing the heck out of us. He makes things make sense. And for that I am grateful!

Not rude, but not very friendly either. Good exam, however i had to ask for an order for an mri, she did not give it to me until i asked. Mri showed lot more damage than expected. I went to another doctor(hand surgeon) and got treated the way i wanted.

Dr. Koiboi Evans provided exceptional orthopedic care throughout my hip replacement journey.
After consulting with other surgeons who advised me to wait, Dr. Evans performed a thorough evaluation and clearly explained that a hip replacement was necessary to relieve my pain. His confidence and decisiveness were reassuring and demonstrated his expertise.
He maintained professionalism at every stage of the process and was especially diligent in working with my insurance provider to ensure approval and timely scheduling. The procedure was successful, and my recovery is progressing well.
I am pain free after years of being in pain. I owe him so much and am so grateful to God for him!
I highly recommend Dr. Evans to anyone seeking a knowledgeable, confident, and patient-centered orthopedic surgeon.

My family has dealt with Dr Evans for a surgery and though he did a great job, my complaint is solely for his office/front desk staff. This is who you will have to deal with a lot after the surgery cause we only see the doctor once a year for literally a couple of minutes. Dr Evans after the surgery has indicated that antiobiotics have to be taken for a couple of years after knee replacement surgery to prevent infection when going to the dentist. Their phone system is not great and have to make a couple of attempts to try to get through to someone because I have never received a return call when leaving a message. It’s extremely difficult to call and get refills and they move you around a lot to different people. No one seems to want to to handle a refill prescription request. It typically takes me a week of calling and messaging to get someone to send the refills to the pharmacy. I just tried this past Friday to call and spoke to someone on the phone to request another refill. We went to the pharmacy today and was advised the prescription request was not sent. The pharmacy tried calling but not able to get through to anyone to handle. I tried calling today and a woman named AK picked up and said she has 8 minutes left and she shut down her computer and that is not her problem, and for me to figure this out tomorrow. I was mid sentence when she just hung up on me. It’s crazy that getting a refill prescription that the doctor advised you have to take is so difficult for his staff to handle. Though Dr Evans seems to be a good surgeon, his staff at the office is just a nightmare to deal with. My mother’s after care surgery was not organized. Typically after the surgery, you are to have at home care prior to starting PT. When I asked Dr Evan’s coordinator about this she had advise the hospital will schedule that. My mother’s surgery was scheduled many months in advance and after her surgery, when I asked about the at home care the hospital nurses and coordinator advised that Dr Evan’s staff never informed them of that and it was too late to schedule anyone because all the at home PT Staff/ therapist are busy and have been scheduled with others already. Our PT therapist was shocked to find out that my mother was not provided any in-home care for PT for the couple of weeks after the surgery. Please beware that you have to deal with the office staff a lot and they are not helpful at all.
